An Eclectic Pagan Church

Fire Dance Shenandoah is a federally recognized eclectic pagan church serving the Shenandoah area out of Berryville, Virginia. We are a branch of Fire Dance Church of Wicca, which was founded by Reverend Edward Livingston in Milton, Florida.

Fire Dance Shenandoah is operated by Reverend Katharine A. Luck, who was ordained by Fire Dance Church of Wicca in 2014.

We hold public ritual gatherings on the eight sabbats commonly observed in the Wiccan calendar, as well as providing various other services to the pagan community of Shenandoah.

Church Services

As a federally recognized church, Fire Dance Shenandoah is able to provide a variety of services to the pagan community.

Public Rituals

Fire Dance hosts public rituals at a private residence outside of Berryville, VA. We announce ritual dates on our calendar and in a dedicated Discord server.

Marriage Services

Fire Dance clergy are able to conduct handfasting and marriage ceremonies which are legally recognized in the state of Virginia.

Pastoral Counseling

Fire Dance clergy are qualified to provide pastoral counseling. Reverend Katharine Luck has experience in crisis intervention and providing spiritual and emotional support to the queer and transgender community.

Blessings

Fire Dance clergy will provide blessings to people, objects, and locations where reasonably possible. This generally consists of blessing new homes, or consecrating ritual tools.

Visitation Ministry

On request, we would like to offer visitation ministry, such as to hospitals and prisons in the Shenandoah area.

Our itinerant monk, Rebecca Hare, also makes a life of traveling around the country offering assistance to those in need.

Community

The church operates a server on Discord, as well as other opportunities to meet with members of the community or attend pagan events around the region.

The Wheel of the Year

Fire Dance holds public rituals for the eight sabbats. Rituals usually take place on the nearest Saturday to each of the astronomical events associated with the sabbats.

All rituals are “come as you are,” no particular dress code. Rituals are held outside, weather permitting, so dress accordingly. Every ritual is concluded with a potluck feast, so bring something to share.

All are welcomed, and we mean it. Fire Dance is very protective of our queer, trans, and POC members.

Fire Dance is an eclectic pagan church, welcoming all forms of paganism, and even non-pagans who wish to attend. Our rituals include elements from many different traditions. We observe the eight sabbats of the Wiccan religion, because they are well known and because they already draw from several different pagan traditions.
